Chris and Tina’s Catalina Bay Waterfront Experience

Chris and tina

Q: Please introduce yourselves

Chris is retired after more than 40 years with Air New Zealand. Tina, his partner, runs two large businesses with him, an Early Learning Centre nearby and an active farm breeding racehorses, keeping them both busy despite Chris’s retirement.

Q: How was the transistion moving to an apartment?

Coming from a farm, they initially thought apartment living would be a great idea, but as the move drew closer, they worried it might feel enclosed or claustrophobic. However, the moment they stepped inside their new apartment, any doubts disappeared and the stunning views instantly won them over.
Q: Why did you choose to purchase at Catalina Bay Apartments?

They were drawn to the location’s uniqueness, as there is nowhere else quite like it, offering such an exceptional environment while being so close to work. Friends in real estate also confirmed that it would be hard to find anywhere in New Zealand that could replicate what Catalina Bay offers.

Q: How does living at Catalina Bay suit your lifestyle?

The setting feels like being on holiday every day, though they often have to remind themselves they still have work to do.
Q: What are your favourite aspects of Catalina Bay?

They enjoy the balance between tranquility and vibrancy, with the calm waterfront and surrounding greenery paired with the lively precinct, bustling cafés, and weekend farmers markets. Their days can easily shift from relaxing walks and kayaking to catching the ferry into the city. The convenient ferry service is a highlight, and its sheltered location in the Upper Harbour means the water remains calm regardless of the weather.
